Brief About Innovation

Brief Description:

Deficiency of micronutrient iron is a major health concern in India. According to National Family Health Survey 4 (2015- 16), 58% children below age 6 and 53% of deficiency women of reproductive age between 18 and 49 years are anaemic due to iron de CSIR-IHBT has developed cost effective technology for production of ready to eat deficiency by providing a minimum of 20% recommended (RTE) foods to address iron de dietary allowances (RDA) of micronutrients.

Target population:

Pre-schoolars, school going children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers.
