Brief: Brucellosis diagnosis is done by variety of assays including bacteriological culture, PCR, antibody screening etc. However, antibody screening using Brucella sp. antigen is the most popular test because of cost factors, assay time and user-friendly nature. Three forms of antibody screening are used for diagnosis of brucellosis; Rose Bengal Plate Test (RBPT), lateral flow assay (LFA) and plate ELISA.
