HEAT SHRINKABLE POLYMERIC COMPOUND

A new  polymeric material developed at ERDA, Vadodara, shrinks up to 50% on application of temperature. It can be used for cable jointing or at cable termination. It has a ·                    Dielectric strength of 26.5 KV/mm; ·                    Tensile strength of 12.8 N/mm2, ·                    Elongation at break, is 375% ·                    Heat Resistance , Elongation at break after ageing at 158 deg Celsius /168                 hours is 200 ·        Specific Gravity is 1.12 ·        Volume Resistivity at 25 deg Celsius is 6.9x1015 ohm-cm ·        Water absorption at 25 deg Celsius / 24 Hours, (%) is 0.06
