Enhancing Shelf Life Of Fruits And Vegetables Through Innovative Technological Intervention

Objectives

To demonstrate, train and propagate the application of technology for extension of shelf life of fruits and vegetables having potential in North-East States with object to create micro business enterprises and establish product market.

The programme would provide employment opportunities for unemployed youth and shall increase the income of local fruit and vegetables grower’s retailers etc. The technology would make possible to transport fruits and vegetables at distant places with minimal loss, due to extension of shelf life and shall fetch better price due to less loss of moisture and viz. a viz. their weight. It shall also help in establishing product market for the prospective licenses of the Corporation.

The activities proposed to be completed are as follows:

  • Resource Survey
  • Dissemination of information and creating awareness of the programme
  • Training of trainers responsible for running the center for preparation of
  • the formulations Selection of suitable Candidates 
  • Training for 50 farmers/ youths 
  • Entrepreneurship Development Programme
